Panasonic LUMIX has announced that it will be an Associate Partner of the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition in London.

The world-renowned exhibition is the Natural History Museum’s annual showcase of the world’s best nature photography and wildlife photojournalism. Each year the Museum’s associated competition attracts over forty five thousand entries from some of the world’s most celebrated professional and aspiring wildlife photographers.

The exhibition features 100 acclaimed photographs from across the competition categories, which are judged by an international judging panel consisting of a diverse group of wildlife experts, editors, scientists and nature photographers.

A spotlight for both nature photography as an art form and the issues surrounding wildlife conservation, the winning images will be seen by millions of people around the world.

Winners of the 2018 competition will be announced at the Museum on Tuesday October 16 2018, while the exhibition will run from October 19. After the initial exhibition, the images will embark on a UK and international tour allowing a huge global audience to experience the images.

The 2019 competition will be open for entries almost immediately after the exhibition opens, from October 22 2018, closing at 11.30am GMT on Thursday December 13.

Panasonic UK professional imaging marketing manager Mike Owen said: ‘’It is really exciting to be partnering with the Natural History Museum and their Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. Panasonic has a long and successful background in creating high quality content and collaborating with one of the foremost photo exhibitions in the world, also with a reputation for high quality photography, is a natural fit for us.

“We hope to elevate the LUMIX brand further through support of the exhibition and that as we continue to move forward that we will see more and more wildlife photography shot on LUMIX products’’

Natural History Museum director Sir Michael Dixon added: “We’re delighted to welcome Panasonic LUMIX as a partner for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. Whilst championing innovation in photography, artistry and technology, Panasonic share our vision for a sustainable planet, reflecting the core values of this much-loved exhibition.”
