Hughes Trade has announced the opening of its 16th UK branch in Newbury as it continues its expansion programme.
Based on Bone Road, it offers a wide range of electrical goods to business customers in the town and surrounding areas including Basingstoke, Reading and Oxford. These include white goods, built-in appliances, TV & audio as well as computer tablets and laptops.
Hughes Trade general manager Paul Chisnall commented: “This is a new part of the country for us and a great location. These premises give us the ability to stock a wide range of products for immediate delivery, while giving access right along the M4 corridor and particularly into Slough and Heathrow.
“We also offer customers the option of delivery by our own vans, together with on-site installation and SMART technology services where appliances can be controlled from hand-held devices.”
The Newbury branch is managed by highly experienced Jos Williams assisted by Dean Clarke, who has worked for many years in similar businesses in the town.
Paul added: “This is the latest chapter in the continuing growth of the business. Last year was a record for us, with a 23% rise in sales to over £20m, built on giving great service to new and existing customers, together with preferential trade pricing – which we will be continuing in Newbury.
“Across the country we have seen a particularly large growth in our rental business, available on virtually all products. This is because it offers so many advantages; such as managing cash flow and taking the worry out of anything going wrong, while for many businesses it is also 100% tax deductible.”
Hughes Trade was started in 2007 and currently has 8,500 active accounts operating from its branches throughout the country with over 50 members of staff.
