Toshiba TVs is set to show its support for the sports community with a high-profile sponsorship of renowned cricket ground Edgbaston.
As the Official TV Screen Partner of Edgbaston, the brand will be visible throughout the venue, with permanent branding already on display across the stadium’s media centre. Toshiba is also to have a major presence throughout some international as well as national matches, not only with big screen advertisements, but also with branded LED banners for several Test and T20 Matches.
The sponsorship is to encompass a series of promotional activities, with an experiential event scheduled for one international match when Toshiba will be inviting fans to savour the Edgbaston atmosphere.
In a campaign that is set to include digital promotions, Toshiba will be offering all its social media fans the opportunity to win match tickets and a meet and greet with five-times Ashes winner Ian Bell, MBE. To help inspire a whole new generation of fans, the brand also plans to publish a personal interview with Ian Bell, MBE and to share his cricket tips across all its social media channels.
Toshiba TVs sales and marketing director for Northern Europe David Flintoft commented: “Part of our summer of sport initiative, this partnership is a great opportunity for us to reach out and engage with local sports communities as well as international and national fans.
“We believe in the drive, commitment and meticulous skill that make sporting heroes and communities. That’s why we want to leave our mark and become a part of the Edgbaston experience. As the Official TV Screen Partner of Edgbaston, we’re not only bringing the sport to more viewers through ‘must-see’ content, but also, through our parent company, Vestel, which has just supplied over 100 TV displays for the stadium.”
Edgbaston Stadium head of commercial Alex Perkins said: “We’re constantly striving to provide the very best match day experience in cricket and securing this partnership with Toshiba TV goes a long way towards achieving this, particularly with Edgbaston’s programme of major match cricket; both the ICC Cricketer World Cup and Specsavers Ashes Series will be played here next summer.”
